Research in the Arts Colloquium
Call for Papers: The Arts Meet Science and Technology Research in the Arts Colloquium
The varied disciplines of the fine arts are often seen as being an isolated world unto themselves within academia. Increasingly, however, activities in the varied fields of the arts are influenced by or are engaged with methods, technologies, and approaches that have been adapted from the world of the sciences, engineering, and technology. The first KSU Research in the Arts Colloquium will take place on November 14, 2019, and aims to showcase KSU research projects and the endeavors of KSU faculty that blur the borders, or involve collaboration between, the traditionally distinctive arts and sciences.
Faculty in all colleges and disciplines who would like to present their work at the colloquium are invited to submit an abstract outlining their research of no more than 400 words. Approximately 4-5 presentations of 15-20 minutes will be accepted.
Faculty are welcome to adapt papers or presentations that have already been published in another venue, or will be in the near future, or are under development.
Abstracts should be e-mailed to Philip Kiernan, firstname.lastname@example.org, no later than 12 noon on Wednesday, September 25, 2019. Accepted papers will be announced by October 1, 2019.
