Research Computing Core Services

The Center for Research Computing has worked on applying for the HPC cluster to serve as a Research Core. The major sections of the application include: a core summary, the strategic need and market assessment, an operational plan, a marketing and advertising plan and other supporting information.  Our current efforts include: defining the existing need, projecting future utilization, measuring HPC impact, defining the service and determining service charges (rates for internal users, USG users and external users).

Services to be offered include:

  • Support for computational jobs on the HPC
  • Data storage services
  • RedCap software administration
  • Secure research enclave administration
  • Research computing facilitation
  • Training
  • HIPAA compliance
  • Consultation
  • Providing access to national compute/storage cyber-infrastructure

Proposed rate structures for KSU and USG users are as follows:

  • Service
    Proposed Rates
  • HPC
    $0.03 per core-hour
  • Storage
    $28 per TeraByte per Year
  • Secure Enclave
    $8,499 per Year*
  • REDCap Hosting
    $6,015 per Year*
  • HIPAA
