Late Proposal Submission Policy
In response to Kennesaw State University’s growth in research and to support that continued trajectory, we are taking steps to bolster professional skills and customer service to help prepare and submit proposals for funding.
One such way is a new late proposal submission policy that was implemented 7/01/2021.
Final budget, budget justification and draft abstract are required to be submitted to the Office of Sponsored Programs Administration (SPA) one week before the sponsor deadline, so that the documents are routed via Cayuse for departmental approval.
A complete proposal package needs to be submitted to the Office of Sponsored Programs Administration by 5 p.m. two business days before the sponsor deadline. This package should be transmitted to SPA via email and should include:
- proposal summary or abstract,
- project budget,
- budget justification,
- project narrative,
- statement of work,
- all forms required by the sponsor,
- subcontract forms and budgets if applicable,
- and commitment letters from external parties.
Final review of the proposal package will occur during this time frame by SPA, other applicable institutional offices such as intellectual property development, and the faculty member’s unit and college.
If SPA does not receive the required documents by 5 p.m. two business days before the sponsor deadline, you will need to complete a late submission waiver request form. (Please download the form before filling it out). The late submission waiver request form will be reviewed and approved by your Associate Dean of Research/Chair and the Vice President for Research.
