Call for Abstracts

Abstract submission deadline passed.

The John C. Salerno Memorial Fund and the KSU Office of Research invite KSU faculty researchers to submit abstracts for possible presentation at the 3rd Annual John C. Salerno Memorial Research Symposium. This iteration of the symposium, originally scheduled for the Fall semester of 2020, will take place during the afternoon of February 25, 2022 (date and time to be confirmed). Talks showcasing the best of KSU research will be followed by a reception to celebrate research at KSU and the life and legacy of John Salerno.

Researchers from all fields of scholarly endeavor are invited to submit written abstracts of their intended talks; however, priority will be given to topics that are interdisciplinary in nature and/or highlight global perspectives and/or collaborations; these will be reviewed with respect to the focal issue, theoretical framing, methodology, and/or discussion.

Submitted abstracts must be one page or less, but its format is otherwise left to the discretion of the author. Abstracts should be emailed to the Office of Research (salernosymposium@kennesaw.edu) no later than 5 pm on December 6, 2021. Authors of abstracts accepted for presentation will be notified by December 15. Questions may be directed to the Associate VP for Research at bdiong@kennesaw.edu.

Authors of accepted abstracts will be expected to present for 15-20 minutes each – communicating their work to a broad audience accurately yet succinctly and clearly, with up to five minutes allotted for follow-up questions and answers. The best presentation, as determined by a jury of peers, will be awarded a cash prize of $1,000. The winner of the “People’s Choice” award, decided by a vote of the audience, will receive a prize of $500
