"Economic Aspects of National Security" 

Aniruddha Bagchi, Interim Chair of the Department of Economics, Finance and Quantitative Analysis in the Coles College of Business, was the featured guest on March 18. He discussed his research on economic factors impacting national security.

Economist Aniruddha Bagchi discussed his research on the economic aspects of law enforcement and homeland security during the University’s Research with Relevance program Friday in a virtual presentation. 

In 2019, he won an Outstanding Publication Prize by Coles College of Business for the paper "Espionage and the Optimal Standard of the Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) Program in Maritime Security." He also recieved the Outstanding Publication Prize in 2015 by Coles College of Business for his paper "Optimal Allocation of Resources in Airport Security: Profiling vs. Screening" published in Operations Research.

Bagchi earned his Ph.D. in Economics from Vanderbilt University.
