Research Operations & Communications (ROC) in the Office of Research handles the day-to-day budgetary, administrative, and public relations functions respectively.

Jonathan Coker, who serves as the senior business operational manager, implements project-based budgets for strategic initiatives within the Office of Research. He also serves as the liasion between the Office of Research and campus partners Fiscal Services, Human Resources and Facilities. 

Heather Hedgepeth, who serves as the executive assistant to the Vice President for Research Phaedra Corso, is responsible for managing daily operations, including planning Office of Research events such as the John C. Salerno Memorial Research Symposium and Toasting our Talon'TED Researchers and Scholars. She also serves as a grants assistant for post-award staff in Sponsored Programs Administration when needed.

Joëlle Walls, who serves as the communications manager, plans, creates and implements internal and external communication campaigns for the Office of Research. These endeavors focus on increasing the visibility of faculty and student success in research and scholarship at KSU as well as promoting research-related activities, events and programs led by the Office of Research.
