    • My book project, Alone Together: Composing Personal Narrative Performance, is designed to help students create storytelling projects about their own lives. It is grounded in my experience teaching storytelling for 12 years at KSU and uses anecdotes about student performances to illustrate the concepts in the book.

I am looking for a first-year student to help me edit and revise the manuscript. As this book is designed with students in mind, I will look to my first-year student researcher to offer their perspective on the readability and overall utility of the manuscript.

    • Students will learn . . .

      • Proofreading and editing skills
      • Academic writing skills
      • How to read and utilize a style guide
      • How to prepare a manuscript for publication
      • How to utilize narrative to illustrate academic concepts
    • Each week students will . . .

      • Read and revise portions of the manuscript
      • Engage in external research to find sources the support the project
      • Suggest changes and edits to the manuscript
      • Suggest ways to improve the readability and usability to the manuscript
      • Meet with the research mentor
    • I anticipate that students will work on this project in a mix of face-to-face and online settings (such as MS Teams). The arrangement of our interaction is flexible and could be entirely online if preferred by the student.
