The Virtual Reality (VR) Blood Donor Experience
Goals
To sustain the nation’s daily blood supply levels, the next generation of sustainable blood donors must be recruited and retained. Our research team, consisting of faculty members and students from Industrial and Systems Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Public Health, and Biology, aims to target the 18-39 age group demographic as the next sustainable generation of blood donors. We will design and develop a VR platform based on consulting some experts, and some playtesting among students for bug fixing and deployment purposes.
Experience Gained
Students will assist in designing a virtual reality (VR) technology platform to help educate, prepare, and distract donors during the blood donation process.
