Episode 3: September 18, 2020

Hopscotch modelIn the third episode of the fall season, the featured faculty researcher was Dr. Iván M. Jorrín-Abellán. He has been at Kennsaw State University since 2014 as a professor of educational research in the Department of Secondary and Middle Grades Education and research catalyst in the Bagwell College of Education.

He discussed the Hopscotch model and the Interactive Research Methods Lab, two initiatives to help students and faculty plan and develop research designs for their undergraduate research assignments, master capstone projects, research proposals and dissertations.

Dr. Jorrín-Abellán has expertise in qualitative research methods with extensive experience teachingInteractive Research Methods Lab and researching innovative uses of technology in education. His current research focuses on the study and development of models and tools to facilitate the teaching and learning of research methodology in social sciences and education.

Dr. Jorrín-Abellán was recognized for his work with the 2019-2020 KSU Outstanding Research and Creative Activity Award.

He earned a Ph.D. in educational technology in 2006 at the University of Valladolid in Spain.
