Sociology and Criminal Justice

We are currently working with Cobb County Senior Services to collect both quantitative and qualitative data about the current and future needs of older adults living in Cobb County. This project will involve collecting and analyzing data from interviews, focus groups and surveys targeting older adults, their caregivers, and professionals working in the aging field. Once all the data are collected, we will draft a final report for Cobb County leaders and stakeholders as well as publish a peer-review article and/or professional presentation at a conference. Undergraduate students will be involved with all aspects of this project. This is an ideal opportunity for anyone interested in older adults, public health, medical sociology, research methods, and/or the intersection of the biological and social sides of health. Also, this would be a valuable experience for anyone wanting to work in any aspect of the healthcare field, research or applied statistics, or wanting to pursue graduate school.
