The Office of Undergraduate Research (OUR) is committed to ensuring that students and faculty mentors are minimally impacted by the disruption of class instruction due to the coronavirus. Below are updates; please email if you have any questions.

Best Practices for Research: The Research Compliance division of the Office of Research has put together general guidelines for research at KSU at this time. Please read this page carefully and direct questions to those staff members (contact information for them can be found here).

Student Travel to Conferences: All university-sponsored travel is canceled until further notice. Students who were planning to attend a conference during the next 1-2 months should cancel all travel arrangements. If you are using funding from internal or external sources (e.g., department funding, funding from a faculty member's grant), please contact the appropriate unit to learn more about how to cancel travel arrangements and receive any refunds if possible.

Student Researchers on Campus: In order to protect the health, safety, and well-being of individuals in our community, undergraduates should not enter any Kennesaw State University facility to conduct research.  Faculty with undergraduates in their research groups should contact each student to determine what activities they can complete remotely to fulfill any course requirements for the remainder of the semester. For more information, please click here

The Symposium of Student Scholars: The Symposium was originally scheduled as a face-to-face conference to be held on April 16, 2020. Out of an abundance of caution, we have decided to hold the conference virtually instead. We are in the planning stages and will provide more information as it becomes available. We have extended the abstract deadline to Sunday March 29, 2020 at 11:59pm. Because many research projects will be impacted by the disruption in class instruction due to coronavirus, we encourage students to submit abstracts based on work they've completed so far. It is not necessary for projects to be finished for inclusion at the Symposium. For more information, including the online submission form, please click here
