Collaborative Research

Kennesaw State University researchers often engage in collaborative research with individuals and organizations external to KSU. In many circumstances, agreements between collaborators are necessary and must be in place before research with human subjects may begin. When planning collaborative research, investigators are encouraged to contact the IRB Office for consultation on securing appropriate IRB approval.

As of January 20, 2020, the 2018 Common Rule requires most federally supported, non-exempt, human subjects research involving more than one institution to comply with the requirement for a sIRB to review the research.
