The Office of Undergraduate Research (OUR) is committed to ensuring that students and faculty mentors are minimally impacted by the disruption of class instruction due to the coronavirus. Below are updates; please email our@kennesaw.edu if you have any questions.

  • The Research Compliance division of the Office of Research has put together general guidelines for research at KSU at this time. Please read this page carefully and direct questions to those staff members (contact information for them can be found here).

The Council on Undergraduate Research has assembled resources for faculty and students regarding undergraduate research in the time of coronavirus. For more information, click here. KSU is an enhanced institutional member of CUR, which means that all faculty, staff, and administrators at KSU can access members-only information for free by activating their institutional membership.

  • All university-sponsored travel is canceled until further notice. Students who were planning to attend a conference should cancel all travel arrangements immediately. If you are using funding from internal or external sources (e.g., department funding, funding from a faculty member's grant), please contact the appropriate unit to learn more about how to cancel travel arrangements and receive any refunds if possible.

The Office of Undergraduate Research can help support student presentations at virtual conferences. Please visit the URCA page for more details.

    • The Symposium of Student Scholars has pivoted to a virtual format until further notice. Please visit the Symposium of Student Scholars website for additional information.
    • All workshops in the Office of Undergraduate Research will be held virtually until further notice. Please visit the Workshops and Training page for more details.
    • Class presentations on undergraduate research topics can be face-to-face, virtual synchronous, and/or pre-recorded for an asynchronous course. More details can be found here
    • The Office of Undergraduate Research has created narrated powerpoints on various undergraduate research topics (for example, how to create a poster, how to write an abstract). These can be accessed here
